The Carbohydrate Link

The major cause of tooth decay is bacteria called Streptococcus mutans. They cause tooth decay via two mechanisms:
1. They produce a sticky substance that allows them to stick to each other and the tooth surfaces;
2. They produce lactic acid from simple sugars (glucose, fructose, etc) which lower the ph at the tooth surface and causes demineralization of the enamel (tooth decay).
It’s very likely that MAP functions in a similar way – produces a sticky substance that allows MAP to stick to each other and the gut lining, and then produces organic acid(s) that BURN the lining of the gut and cause inflammation.
So, if the above is true, there should be some link between animals and humans infected with MAP and carbohydrate consumption. In fact, the evidence of a carbohydrate link is OVERWHELMING!

Frank Newman, who was considered a “maverick”, organic farmer in 1950’s, stated that “the widespread incidence of Johnes disease coincided with the general use of manufactured cattle foods”, such foods are high carbohydrates: http://www.newmanturner.com/frank/frank_books.html
I did a survey of over 100 organic, grass-fed cattle farms from over 5 different countries. The farmers that fed their cattle grass and not high-carb cattle-feed, did not have a single case of Johne’s disease!
