The Cause of Crohn’s and IBS (Explained Briefly)

We’ve had a number of emails asking if we can simply explain what we believe is the cause of IBS and Crohn’s. First, I want to say based on all our research, I’m certain the explanation below reasonably accurately describes what’s happening in the guts of CD and IBS sufferers.
The cause of Crohn’s and IBS is MAP infection. MAP is a slow-growing, difficult to kill bug. MAP causes disease by attaching itself to gut linings and fermenting carbohydrates to produce acid that cause tissue burns.
Crohn’s sufferers “weak” immune response is caused by defective macrophages. Their defective macrophages are unable to kill MAP bacteria or very limited in there ability to kill MAP. As Crohn’s sufferers consume carbohydrates, MAP ferments them and produces acid that causes intestinal, microscopic tissues burns. Macrophages migrate to the sites of the tissue burns and produce various compounds (including Tumor Necrosis Factor) that initiate an inflammatory response. Additionally, MAP invades the macrophages, potentially replicates inside them and ultimately kills them, probably via its acid producing capability. During the process of killing (burning) the macrophages, additional amounts of Tumor Necrosis Factor are produced. This process continues unabated while there are ample carbohydrates for MAP to ferment.
The excess levels of Tumor Necorsis Factor prevent the microscopic wounds from healing naturally. As MAP ferments more carbohydrates and replicates inside more macrophages, the burn wounds slowly increase in size. Inevitably, with MAP’s continued fermentation of carbohydrates, strictures, ulcers and fistulas may form.
On the other hand, IBS sufferers have a normal immune response and therefore their macrophages can effectively kill MAP. So, there are no persistent, excess levels of Tumor Necrosis Factor and no wounds that continue to grow to significant size. However, MAP still ferments carbohydrates and produces acid that cause low grade gut information, increased gut sensitivity, bloating and diarrhea/constipation.
I know the above explanation is very brief but I will explain it in more detail soon.
Also, on this blog, I’ll share a program that can be followed by Crohn’s and IBS sufferers that yields very dramatic improvements in their disease quickly. The Program is based on numerous scientific studies and a significant amount of anecdotal evidence. I believe the Program is the most effective and natural way to treat IBS and CD and may potentially cure the disease… more details soon.
